Kidnapping Scenario of State Bank Branch Head Revealed: Release or Murder
Jakarta — Three primary defendants in the kidnapping and murder of the Head of a Branch (Kacab) of a state-owned bank, Mohammad Ilham Pradipta, are known to have devised two scenarios in carrying out their actions.
The three defendants are Candy alias Ken, Dwi Hartono, and Antonius Aditia Maharjuni.
The defendants committed these acts because they wanted to gain control over dormant customer accounts at the bank that could be accessed through the branch head’s authority.
“The second option involved coercion with violence or threats of violence, and after succeeding, the Head of the BRI Cempaka Putih Branch in Central Jakarta would be eliminated or murdered to ensure it is clean and clear,” the public prosecutor said, as quoted in the court case file at the East Jakarta District Court on Friday (13 March 2026).
Subsequently, it was agreed that Dwi Hartono and Antonius Aditia Maharjuni would form a team to kidnap Ilham and take him to a safe house in the Central Jakarta area.
“At the safe house, the team assigned by Dwi Hartono to kidnap the victim would hand over Mohammad Ilham Pradipta to Ken’s team, who understand banking and are hackers/IT specialists, to force the victim to carry out the work of transferring money to receiving accounts,” he explained.
In their actions, the perpetrators also involved rogue members of the military who were tasked with finding civilians to kidnap the victim.
On 20 August 2025, the kidnappers carried out their action from a shopping mall on Jalan TB Simatupang, Ciracas, East Jakarta. The victim was then forced to provide access to transfer funds.
“The witness found Mohammad Ilham Pradipta in a lifeless state with his feet, hands, and eyes still bound with duct tape in a prone position,” the prosecutor said.
For their actions, the defendants violated Article 459 read in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of the Criminal Code, alternatively Article 458 paragraph (1) read in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of the Criminal Code.
Previously, the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police announced the results of the investigation into Ilham’s death on Tuesday (16 September 2025).
The victim was found dead in a rice field area in Kampung Karangsambung, Nagasari Village, Serang Baru District, Bekasi Regency, on Thursday (21 August 2025) at approximately 05:30 WIB.
When discovered, the victim’s hands and feet were bound, eyes covered with duct tape, and his body was covered with bruises.
Investigators revealed that Ilham had previously been kidnapped from a supermarket parking area in the Pasar Rebo area, Susukan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta, on Wednesday (20 August 2025) in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, 15 other civilian suspects include: Candy alias Ken (41), Dwi Hartono (40), AAM alias A (38), JP (40), Erasmus Wawo (27), REH (23), JRS (35), AT (29), EWB (43), MU (44), DSD (44), Wiranto (38), Eka Wahyu (20), Rohmat Sukur (40), and AS (25).
