Governor of the Air Force Academy, Marsda TNI Donald Kasenda, symbolically handed over prosthetic leg aid together with the Kick Andy Foundation, represented by Ali Sadikin, at the Disaster Alert Building of RSPAU S Hardjolukito, Adisutjipto, Yogyakarta, on Friday (27/3). This aid forms part of the social service activities in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Indonesian Air Force. On this occasion, Governor AAU Marsda TNI Donald Kasenda explained that the provision of prosthetic legs and blood donations shows that TNI AU has a high level of concern for the surrounding community. “The presence of TNI AU is also to help the community and build social awareness,” said this high-ranking two-star TNI AU officer. Furthermore, he explained that providing prosthetic legs to those in need is not merely about building social awareness. However, it also gives hope to those who need it to be able to carry out activities and work again. Marsda TNI Donald Kasenda said the targets of the recipients of this social service aid are members of the community who require prosthetic legs. “The hope is that they can later carry out independent activities. They will be able to support their families as well,” he added. The Governor of AAU emphasised that activities like this will continue to be carried out sustainably. “For TNI AU, this activity is about concern. TNI does not only carry out air defence tasks but also for the surrounding community,” he stated. Meanwhile, one of the prosthetic leg recipients, Daladji, was delighted to receive the prosthetic leg aid. Previously, he had used a prosthetic leg, but a new one was needed according to his body condition. In addition to the handover of prosthetic legs, the 80th TNI AU anniversary event was also enlivened by a blood donation attended by personnel from TNI AU, TNI AD, TNI AL, and Polri serving in Yogyakarta.
