Kiai Said Presents Keris to Iranian Ambassador, Symbol of Solidarity from 14 Islamic Organisations Against Zionism

JAKARTA — The Chairman General of the Islamic Social Organisations Friendship Institution (LPOI), KH Said Aqil Siradj, received a visit from the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Indonesia, Mohammad Boroujerdi, at the Al-Tsaqafah Islamic Boarding School in South Jakarta.

In the meeting attended by hundreds of students, Kiai Said symbolically handed over a heirloom keris to the Iranian Ambassador as a sign of friendship and solidarity.

Kiai Said affirmed full support for Iran in facing Israel and the United States (US). He stated that this support comes from 14 Islamic social organisations united under LPOI.

“Praise be to God, tonight the Al-Tsaqafah Pesantren is visited by a noble guest, the Iranian Ambassador. With a very friendly attitude, full of brotherhood, we all support Iran, support the Iranian nation in fighting falsehood, fighting crime, fighting the tyranny of Israel and America,” said Kiai Said when met after the meeting on Friday (17/4/2026) night.

He also revealed that LPOI had sent an open letter to Iran’s leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, as a form of moral support and prayers for Iran’s victory.

“We fully support Iran with prayers, with morals. Praying that the Iranian nation is given strength in body and soul and victory. Because the enemy in the world is Israel and the Jews,” said Kiai Said.

According to Kiai Said, the US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, had also made a controversial statement claiming that their enemy is Islam, both Sunni and Shia. Therefore, in his view, Zionism is also an enemy of Islam.
