Kia PV5 sales surpass 50,000 units in 13 months

Kia Corp. has stated that global cumulative sales of the PV5, the company’s first purpose-built vehicle (PBV), have exceeded 50,000 units only 13 months after its launch.

According to Yonhap on Sunday (13/9) local time, the South Korean automaker reported that 53,530 units of the PV5 had been sold worldwide up to the end of July, with international markets accounting for approximately 60 per cent of total sales.

Launched in June 2025, the PV5 is a medium-sized electric PBV and represents the first model in Kia’s efforts to expand its business into the commercial vehicle market and provide mobility solutions tailored to user needs.

These figures make the PV5 Kia’s third best-selling electric vehicle during the January-July period, following the EV3 and EV5.

Following the sales momentum of the PV5, Kia plans to introduce its second specialised PBV, the PV7, at the IAA Transportation 2026 exhibition in Germany early last week. The exhibition is one of the largest commercial vehicle events in the world.

The automaker plans to launch the PV7 next month to expand its PBV lineup and strengthen its presence in the global commercial vehicle market.
