KIA posts rise in profits
JAKARTA (JP): PT Keramika Indonesia Asosiasi (KIA) has reported an almost six-fold increase in its net profits to Rp 14.57 billion last year, as compared to Rp 2.44 billion in 1993.
The publicly listed company announced yesterday that its sales rose 237.2 percent to Rp 103.2 billion in 1994 from Rp 43.5 billion in 1993.
It said in a statement that a number of expansion projects, which are now under construction, are expected to raise the production capacity of ceramic tiles to six million square meters per annum next year from around 2.6 million square meters at present.
The annual production capacity of glazed roof tiles is expected to increase to 42 million pieces in 1996 from 19.2 million pieces at present, while that of floor tiles is projected to increase to 5.8 million square meters next year from 1.7 million square meters at present.(hen)
