Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Information Commission (KI) is urging SMAN 25 Jakarta to attain the status of an informative body by enhancing the information governance at the school.

“SMAN 25 Jakarta achieved a score of 84.69, narrowly missing the informative threshold of 89.00,” said KI Jakarta Commissioner for Education, Socialisation, and Advocacy, Ferid Nugroho, during a visit to the school in Jakarta on Thursday.

He stated that this achievement demonstrates significant progress but still requires strengthening in several aspects.

“If all indicators can be optimally fulfilled, SMAN 25 has a strong chance of achieving the status of an informative public body,” he said.

He also reminded of the importance of mitigating potential information disputes in the school environment, particularly regarding the use of School Operational Assistance (BOS) funds and the procurement of goods and services.

According to him, transparency must be implemented proportionally. “Not all information can be disclosed. There are exclusions for certain information as stipulated by law,” said Ferid.

He explained that the management of the Public Information List (DIP) and the Excluded Information List (DIK) must refer to policies from the Education Agency as the primary Public Information Disclosure Officer (PPID).

“If the PPID at SMAN 25 has been established, immediately update the DIP, especially in preparation for the 2026 monitoring and evaluation. Adjustments are needed to meet current public information needs, including updates to decrees and types of available information,” he said.

The 2025 e-Monev results are based on six main indicators of public information openness. One key aspect is providing information on public body activities, both completed and ongoing, as a form of accountability to the public.

Ferid also highlighted the classification of information in the school environment. Information such as the implementation of TKA exams, UAS, and UTS falls under periodic information, as well as information that is open at any time and immediately.

“Meanwhile, excluded information can only be disclosed with permission from the relevant parties and for specific interests as regulated in Article 17 of Public Information Disclosure Law No. 14 of 2008,” he said.

In addition, he encouraged strengthening the school’s information dissemination channels as a public information centre. “Information media such as websites and social media need to be more varied and active. This year, the digitalisation aspect carries a high weighting in the e-Monev assessment,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMAN 25 Jakarta, Triyem, affirmed the school’s commitment to seriously follow up on all recommendations from KI Jakarta.

“We express our thanks for the very constructive input. This serves as important evaluation material for us to improve the quality of public information openness at SMAN 25,” she said.
