Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Information Commission (KI DKI) Harry Ara Hutabarat has expressed appreciation for the high participation of public bodies in the E-Monev system, placing DKI Jakarta Province as the region with the largest number of participants nationally. In 2025, 829 public bodies took part in E-Monev, whilst the number of participants is targeted to increase to 1,001 public bodies from various categories in 2026. “Jakarta has so far been the leading province in terms of participation and awareness of public information disclosure. However, E-Monev is not merely a ceremonial activity, but a form of commitment by public bodies to provide quality information services to the public,” Harry said in Jakarta on Thursday. On the occasion, Harry also conveyed his appreciation to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Agency (Kominfotik), which has provided facilitation and support for various public information disclosure programmes in Jakarta. According to him, the achievements of informative public bodies in Jakarta continue to show positive development. To date, there are 189 public bodies with Informative status. Nevertheless, this number still needs to be increased as it only covers around 18.46 per cent of all public bodies targeted for public information disclosure guidance. He stressed that KI DKI Jakarta not only conducts assessments but also provides mentoring and consultation to public bodies so they can carry out sustainable improvements in information and documentation governance. Besides discussing E-Monev, Harry also conveyed the need for facilities and infrastructure support for KI DKI Jakarta, particularly regarding the hearing room facilities for public information dispute resolution, the need for which is increasing. In addition, in the field of education and socialisation, KI DKI Jakarta continues to develop various programmes such as Education, Socialisation and Advocacy (ESA), the Goes to Campus programme, public information disclosure podcasts, and collaboration with various universities to improve information disclosure literacy among the younger generation. “Going forward, we need to strengthen the capacity of public bodies to be better prepared to face the demands of information disclosure and the increasing public awareness of the right to obtain public information,” Harry said. Meanwhile, KI DKI Jakarta Head of Institutional Affairs, Aang Muhdi Gozali, said that the launch of the 2026 E-Monev will be held on 7 August 2026 with full support from the DKI Jakarta Kominfotik Agency. Aang also explained that the Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) instrument in this year’s E-Monev has not undergone significant changes. However, there is an emphasis on aspects of innovation and digitalisation, including public bodies’ efforts to support waste management through the use of technology and creativity in public services. “The assessment categories remain the same as the previous year. What is different is the expansion of participants from 829 to 1,001 public bodies,” said Aang.
