Khoirudin's Leadership in Jakarta DPRD Officially Ends After Plenary Session
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Khoirudin has been officially removed from the position of Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD after the dismissal decision was announced in a plenary session at the Jakarta DPRD Building on Thursday (30/4/2026). The decision simultaneously ends Khoirudin’s leadership in the council’s presiding role. The plenary session was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD, Ima Mahdiah. She opened the session by banging the gavel three times and confirmed that the number of attending members met the quorum requirement. In the open session, Ima explained that Khoirudin’s dismissal follows the internal mechanism of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), which proposed replacing the Jakarta DPRD Chairman. The proposal refers to the Decree of the PKS Central Executive Board Number 179/S-K/P/DPP-PKS/2026 dated 2 April 2026 regarding the replacement of the Jakarta DPRD Chairman from the PKS Faction for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term. Additionally, the dismissal process is based on Government Regulation Number 12 of 2018 on DPRD Rules of Procedure and Jakarta DPRD Regulation Number 1 of 2024. “The other DPRD leaders reported the proposal for replacing the DPRD leadership, and the dismissal of the DPRD leadership was determined in the plenary session,” said Ima. She then sought the plenary session’s approval for the proposal to dismiss Khoirudin. “Next, we would like to ask the esteemed plenary session forum. Is the proposal to replace Mr. Drs. H. Khoirudin, M.Si. as Chairman of the DPRD of DKI Jakarta Province approved?” asked Ima. Subsequently, in the same session, Suhud Alynudin from the PKS Faction was announced as the candidate for Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD. After approval by the forum, the proposal will be submitted to the Minister of Home Affairs through Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung. “Later, once the letter is submitted to the Jakarta Government, to me as governor, I will immediately follow it up to the Ministry of Home Affairs to become a decision,” said Pramono.
