Khoirudin Absent from Plenary Session, Dismissal of DKI DPRD Chairman Still Approved

JAKARTA - The Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Khoirudin, did not attend the plenary session discussing the proposal for his dismissal on Thursday (30/4/2026).

Deputy Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ima Mahdiah, claimed she did not know the exact reason for Khoirudin’s absence. However, Khoirudin had asked her to lead the session.

“I am not sure, but he called me last week to ask me to chair today’s plenary session,” said Ima at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building on Thursday.

Out of a total of 106 council members, 83 were present, representing about 78%.

With that number, the plenary session approved the proposal to dismiss Khoirudin as Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD.

Following the approval, the DKI Jakarta DPRD announced Suhud Alynudin from the PKS Faction as the candidate to replace the Chairman for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term.

“It will go through the Governor of DKI and then to the Ministry of Home Affairs. So we are waiting for the decision from the Ministry of Home Affairs,” said Ima.

Thus, the appointment of Suhud Alynudin as Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD is pending ratification from the central government, simultaneously signalling the end of Khoirudin’s leadership in the DPRD’s top position.
