Surabaya (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has urged regional heads to prepare integrated strategies to address global geopolitical dynamics that could potentially impact the energy, food, and logistics sectors in East Java.

“We understand that global geopolitical dynamics have the potential to broadly affect the energy, food, and logistics sectors. This is a real risk that we must anticipate together,” she stated in Surabaya on Thursday.

Khofifah stressed that global challenges must be met by strengthening resilience and enhancing regional adaptive capacity to remain resilient and capable of capturing opportunities amid global dynamics.

As a driving force of the national economy, East Java contributes 25.29 per cent to the Java Island economy and 14.40 per cent to the national economy.

Investment performance also shows a positive trend, with a 7.5 per cent contribution to the national level, ranking third.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, investment grew 31.6 per cent quarter-on-quarter and 11.4 per cent year-on-year.

In the logistics sector, East Java serves as a national distribution hub through Tanjung Perak Port, which handles 24 out of 41 sea toll routes and supplies nearly 80 per cent of logistics to 19 provinces in eastern Indonesia.
