Khofifah: Synergy is the key to realising prosperous development in East Java

Surabaya - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has stressed that synergy between the executive, legislative branches, district/city governments, and strategic elements is the key to realising advanced and prosperous development in East Java.

“The key is synergy. There is no success alone. Success comes because we all synergise between the executive and legislative, district/city governments, and various strategic elements in East Java,” Khofifah said in a statement received in Surabaya on Thursday.

Khofifah expressed appreciation to all factions of the East Java Provincial People’s Representative Council (DPRD) for accepting the Governor’s Accountability Report (LKPJ) for the 2025 Fiscal Year during the second-level discussion plenary meeting.

She also extended thanks to the DPRD leadership, faction leaders, the Special Committee (Pansus) for the LKPJ, and all East Java DPRD members for the various inputs and recommendations provided to the East Java Provincial Government.

“All inputs and notes to the East Java Provincial Government will certainly be a concern for the executive to improve, conduct corrections, evaluations, and improvements to various upcoming development programmes,” she stated.

She cited, for example, the proposal for a People’s Business Credit (KUR) interest rate of 3%, which falls under central government authority, as well as issues related to the conversion of Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B) and Protected Paddy Fields (LSD), which concern the national food security agenda.

“We have communicated with the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) and the Coordinating Minister for Food. If land is converted from LP2B or LSD, its impact on national food security must be considered, given that East Java is the national food barn,” she said.

Meanwhile, East Java DPRD Chairman M. Musyafak stated that all factions accepted the Governor’s 2025 LKPJ with several notes and improvement recommendations.

“The final opinion conclusion from all factions is to accept the 2025 LKPJ. The notes and recommendations we provide represent the DPRD’s full support so that the government’s future strategic steps are increasingly perfect and bring blessings to all East Java residents,” he said.
