Khofifah Receives 2025 EPPD Award from Interior Minister
Surabaya (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa received the 2025 Local Government Performance Evaluation (EPPD) award from the Interior Minister during the 30th anniversary of Regional Autonomy Day in 2026 in Jakarta on Monday.
The award was granted based on Interior Minister’s Decree Number 100.2.7_739 of 2026 on the Results of the National Evaluation of Local Government Performance for 2025.
The East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov Jatim) achieved a score of 3.4695 with a high performance status.
Governor Khofifah expressed gratitude and pride for the central government’s appreciation. She emphasised that this achievement is the result of collective efforts by all elements in the region.
“We in the regions always strive for the best to create independence and welfare in various sectors. We hold and interpret Regional Autonomy in a practical manner. And Alhamdulillah, we are always supported and appreciated by the centre,” she stated in a press release received in Surabaya.
She added that the achievement aligns with the Regional Autonomy Day theme, “With Regional Autonomy We Realise Asta Cita”, which is implemented in East Java through the nine development missions for 2025–2029, Nawa Bhakti Satya.
“Asta Cita in East Java is applied through Nawa Bhakti Satya. Then at the regency/city level, it is implemented through the work programmes of each regent/mayor. Thus, insya Allah, whatever the central government’s priority programmes are, we in the regions will always strengthen and ensure their success,” she said.
In addition to Pemprov Jatim, eight out of 15 regencies and two out of nine cities with the highest national EPPD scores also come from East Java. From a total of 29 awards, East Java secured 11 EPPD 2025 awards.
Several regencies/cities in East Java that also received awards include Banyuwangi Regency, Bojonegoro Regency, Gresik Regency, Jombang Regency, Malang Regency, Nganjuk Regency, Ngawi Regency, Sidoarjo Regency, Blitar City, and Surabaya City.
The Governor appreciated the achievement as the result of synergy among all local governments in East Java.
“Alhamdulillah, today we together receive the fruits of our hard work and synergy. I am grateful and proud of the achievements of the regencies/cities in Jatim, which cumulatively are the most among all provinces in Indonesia,” she said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Interior Minister Bima Arya Sugiarto, acting as the ceremony inspector on behalf of Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, conveyed the importance of authority in implementing regional autonomy.
“One word that is more related to Regional Autonomy than other fields is authority. This authority is what distinguishes 30 years of Regional Autonomy from the previous era. Authority is an ongoing process, not something static and unchanging,” he said.
He emphasised that true authority is responsibility. Without integrity, authority will only give birth to arbitrariness and lead to sting operations.
Bima also stated that decentralisation not accompanied and balanced with justice will trigger inequality. Therefore, regional autonomy is not merely about authority, but also responsibility to continuously provide services.
