Malang, East Java (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has confirmed that stocks of subsidised fuel oil (BBM), particularly diesel, in the province are secure, following recent queues at public filling stations (SPBU).

During an inspection of a filling station in the Karanglo area of Malang Regency on Sunday, Khofifah stated that ensuring the availability of subsidised fuel is crucial as it is one of the main drivers of the economy. “Our economic performance is heavily determined by the stability of fuel supplies. There were confirmed issues with diesel yesterday, but everything is now secure and running smoothly,” Khofifah said.

Khofifah assured that she will continue to monitor and maximise efforts to meet the supply of subsidised fuel, both diesel and Pertalite, by intensifying communication with Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus.

Meanwhile, Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager for Communication, Relations, & CSR at Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus, stated that the company has been optimising all infrastructure and resources over the past week to maintain fuel availability for consumers. Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus reported that the total fuel distribution capacity in East Java reaches 22,196 kilolitres per day. The distribution of diesel has reached 103.3 percent of normal levels, while Pertalite distribution is at 96.6 percent.

“We have increased distribution above the average normal requirement. Fuel terminal and integrated terminal operations run 24 hours a day, we have added more tanker trucks, and we continuously evaluate our distribution patterns so that service to the public remains optimal,” Ahad said. This continuous monitoring allows Pertamina to quickly adjust fuel supply deliveries to specific areas. Consequently, Pertamina Patra Niaga Jatimbalinus has urged the public not to worry about fuel supply availability as it is currently in a secure condition.
