Surabaya (ANTARA) - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has called on all stakeholders to realise the province as a national centre for sharia economic ecosystem development, after it secured eight awards at the 2026 Adinata Syariah Awards.

“Alhamdulillah, these awards are the result of collective efforts by all elements, from the government, Islamic boarding schools, business actors, academics, sharia financial institutions, to the community, who continue to strengthen the sharia economic ecosystem in East Java,” Khofifah said in a statement received in Surabaya on Tuesday.

The eight awards were received by the East Java Provincial Government, represented by the Head of the Industry and Trade Office, Iwan, at the awards ceremony in Jakarta on Monday (6/7).

East Java won first place in the categories of Growth of Halal-Certified Business Actors, Sharia Economic and Financial Innovation, and Halal, Safe, and Healthy Culinary Zone (KHAS).

“These eight awards we have won are proof of East Java’s readiness as a national centre for sharia economic development,” she said.

According to Khofifah, this achievement is the result of strengthening the Halal Value Chain, which the provincial government has built in an integrated manner from upstream to downstream, starting from business actor development, halal certification, sharia financing, halal industry, to expanding market access.

One of the strategic steps taken is the development of the Sidoarjo Halal Industrial Park (HIPS) Safe n Lock, which has received a recommendation from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs as part of strengthening the national halal industry ecosystem.
