East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, together with the East Java Regional Office of the National Land Agency (BPN), handed over 444 right-of-use certificates to the provincial government and to religious sites. She said that land legality is a fundamental foundation for equitable development; without clear legal status, asset management risks disputes and inefficiency. In addition to government land, the batch includes transport infrastructure such as Maospati Terminal in Magetan, road assets in Pamekasan Regency, irrigation facilities in Probolinggo, and healthcare and social facilities in Mojokerto. She added that lacking legality and prolonged processes have significant social impacts, including overlap and disputes; proper governance is aided by the presence of certificates. She stressed that certificates are not merely land administration but part of a commitment to transparent, accountable public governance focused on service delivery. If land status is orderly and structured, utilisation becomes more productive, sustainable, and beneficial for community welfare. East Java’s Regional Office Chief Asep Heri noted that the 444 certificates cover a total area of 453,999 square metres, including 345 certificates for Nahdlatul Ulama (119,799 sqm), 11 certificates for Muslimat NU (5,572 sqm), 10 certificates for Muhammadiyah (12,797 sqm), 43 certificates for various foundations, and one certificate each for a church and other religious bodies. Additionally, the provincial government received 33 right-of-use certificates in the name of the Jatim provincial government (totaling 239,835 sqm) and 25 certificates for Pondok Pesantren Amanatul Ummah. “The 444 certificates are not just numbers but tangible evidence of cooperation, coordination, and collaboration among us all. Thank you for your goodwill and do not tire of doing good for our nation, religion, and people,” she said.
