Khofifah Awards Rp1.9 Billion to Top 10 Village Cooperative Units in East Java

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has awarded a total of Rp1.9 billion in development funds to the ten best-performing Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) in the province. She stated that these ten KDKMPs successfully recorded the highest transaction values in East Java, totalling Rp14.05 billion. “Ten KDKMPs recorded the highest transaction values in East Java and will receive development funds from the East Java Provincial Government amounting to Rp1.9 billion,” she said in a statement in Surabaya on Tuesday. Khofifah noted that the first to third ranked KDKMPs will each receive Rp300 million, namely KDMP Pucangan in Montong District, Tuban Regency; KDMP Tukangkayu in Banyuwangi District, Banyuwangi Regency; and KDMP Karangagung in Palang District, Tuban Regency. The fourth to sixth ranked KDKMPs will each receive Rp200 million, namely KDMP Rengel in Tuban Regency, KDMP Bakalanwringinpitu in Sidoarjo Regency, and KDMP Dapet Balongpanggang in Gresik Regency. Meanwhile, the seventh to tenth ranked cooperatives will each receive Rp100 million, namely KDMP Gesikharjo in Tuban Regency, KDMP Bedali in Kediri Regency, KDMP Tangunan in Mojokerto Regency, and KDMP Tlogoagung in Bojonegoro Regency. In addition, Khofifah will also award the Jer Basuki Mawa Beya medal to Tuban Regent Aditya Halindra Faridzky for his role in supporting a conducive business climate for the operation of KDMPs in Tuban. She explained that KDMPs in Tuban Regency dominate the best transaction achievements from a financial perspective, as four KDMPs from the area are among the top ten largest KDKMP transactions in East Java. In fact, the accumulated transaction value of Tuban’s KDMPs managed to surpass the total KDMP transactions in several other provinces, such as Yogyakarta Special Region, Central Java, West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten. Khofifah stated that the significant attention given to cooperatives is inseparable from the role of cooperatives and MSMEs, which successfully contributed 60 per cent to East Java’s economic growth, which reached 5.9 per cent in the first quarter of 2026. “The role of cooperatives and MSMEs in East Java is extraordinary. Let us maintain this together and improve their governance so that cooperatives become more modern and professional,” she said.
