Khatulistiwa announces short list
The prestigious Khatulistiwa Literary Award was established in
2000 by QB World Books in association with Plaza Senayan, and is
a national, annual award dedicated to honoring and developing
exemplary Indonesian literature.
Now in its fifth year, the 2004-
2005 award covers those works published between June 1, 2004 and
May 30, 2005, and comprises two categories, prose and poetry. The
award is sponsored by publishing companies as well as Indonesian
and foreign corporations, such as the Gramedia Group and
Ernst&Young.
Winners of the two categories will be selected and
announced at a formal event at 7 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Atrium,
Plaza Senayan, which is open to the public. Cash prizes will be
given to the winning author and poet, at Rp 100 million for prose
and Rp 50 million for poetry. Following are the finalists of both
