Deli Serdang (ANTARA) - The Khatib for Eid al-Fitr Prayer 1447 Hijriah at the Sei Semayang Football Field, Sunggal Subdistrict, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Dr Al Ahyu MA urged the community to strengthen three dimensions of life: spiritual, social, and empathy.

“In the spiritual dimension, the community is expected to continue prospering the mosque and maintaining worship,” he said in Deli Serdang on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the social dimension, he said, Eid al-Fitr serves as a momentum to strengthen familial ties amid diversity.

“Whereas in the empathy dimension, zakat and social care become tangible manifestations of togetherness,” he stated.

He conveyed that Eid al-Fitr is a day of victory that must be meaningful by strengthening faith and piety.

Eid al-Fitr is also a day of joy. However, that joy should not only be felt by some people, but also by the less fortunate community.

“Therefore, zakat fitrah becomes a means for the entire ummah to feel happiness on this holy day,” he said.

At the Eid al-Fitr Prayer, which was also attended by the Regent of Deli Serdang Asri Tambunan and Deputy Regent Lom Lom Suwondo, the khatib further reminded that the end of Ramadan does not mean the end of good deeds in worship.

“Ramadan is a school for us to shape a pious personality. The sign of accepted worship is the increasing quality of worship after Ramadan,” he explained.

Unlike previous years, this year’s Eid al-Fitr Prayer organised by the Deli Serdang Regency Government was centralised at one location. Last year, similar activities were held in two subdistricts, namely Percut Sei Tuan and Hamparan Perak.

Through the implementation of Eid al-Fitr Prayer in the subdistrict, it is hoped that the values of Islamic brotherhood, togetherness, and religious spirit will continue to grow in community life, in line with efforts to realise a healthy, intelligent, prosperous, religious, and sustainable Deli Serdang.

Nurhayati, a resident of Sei Semayang, assessed that the Eid al-Fitr Prayer held by the local government at the football field can strengthen relations between the government and the community.

“This is a very good momentum. We can feel the togetherness directly with the government,” she said.

Nurhayati also hopes that similar activities can continue to be held in rotation in other subdistricts so that more residents can experience that togetherness.
