Khatib Emphasises Overseas Muslim Unity During Prabowo's Eid Prayer in Paris

JAKARTA — President Prabowo Subianto performed the Eid al-Adha prayer for 1447 H at Wisma Indonesia in Paris, France, on Wednesday (27 May 2026). Prabowo arrived at the venue at 8:40 local time. The Eid al-Adha prayer attended by Prabowo featured a sermon by Fakhruddin Arrozi, a lecturer at Muhammadiyah University Lamongan and a graduate of the International Islamic University Islamabad, Pakistan. ‘We are not commanded to sacrifice our children as Prophet Ibrahim did, but rather to sacrifice our egos in obedience to Allah’s commands,’ Fakhruddin said in his sermon, as quoted in a written statement on Wednesday (27 May 2026). Fakhruddin also reminded that qurban is not only a symbol of obedience to Allah but also an invitation to share with others. Following the Eid al-Adha prayer, President Prabowo mingled with the worshippers.
