Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Khatib of Eid prayers at Masjid Aceh Darussalam in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, Captain Infantry Zulkhaizir, stated that Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah serves as a momentum for the people of Aceh to rise from various difficulties caused by flooding disasters.

“Eid al-Fitr is an opportunity for us to rise again from wounds, from sorrows, from difficulties, and to start a new page with a clean heart,” said Khatib Zulkhaizir during the Eid prayer attended by President Prabowo Subianto along with cabinet officials in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh, on Saturday.

He mentioned that several months ago, specifically on 26 November 2025, the people of Aceh experienced a flooding calamity. The disaster, he said, must be understood as the power of God (Allah).

“Most of us humans are often ungrateful to Allah, so Allah gives punishment according to what we do,” he stated.

He also reminded disaster survivors to remain patient and surrender to God in dealing with various impacts resulting from the disaster.

“Remember, Allah gives to His servants according to their capacity,” he said.

The Khatib noted that Aceh has begun to show recovery from the disaster’s impacts, with various aspects of life gradually improving, thanks to post-disaster aid support from the Central Government.

The Eid prayer at Masjid Darussalam in Aceh Tamiang, attended by President Prabowo Subianto, was joined by around 1,300 worshippers, including disaster survivors in the area.

Prabowo was accompanied by several officials such as Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian. Also present were Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, and TNI Chief General Agus Subianto.

After the Eid prayer, the Head of State also joined halal bihalal, shook hands with residents, distributed basic necessities, and inspected temporary housing (huntara) for disaster survivors.
