Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, owner of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri (Uhud Tour), appeared as a witness in the trial of an alleged corruption case involving additional Hajj quotas for 2023–2024 at the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (20 October).

The public prosecutor confirmed Khalid’s presence to give evidence.

“One witness who is scheduled to testify under oath on behalf of all four defendants is a person named Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, and he is ready to give evidence,” the prosecutor said at the start of the hearing.

Khalid then entered the courtroom and was sworn in. At the time this report was written, the witness examination had just begun.

The examination of witnesses is part of the prosecution’s effort to establish how the additional Hajj quotas were managed and allocated, including the flow of fees and the involvement of associations and Special Hajj Pilgrimage Organisers (PIHK) in the process.

Four people are facing legal proceedings in the alleged corruption case over the additional Hajj quotas for 2023–2024, which is said to have caused state losses of Rp622,090,207,166.41 (Rp622 billion).

The defendants are former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, who served from 2019 to 2024; Yaqut’s former special adviser Ishfah Abidal Azis, also known as Gus Alex; Maktour Operations Director Ismail Adham; and Asrul Azis Taba, chair of the Kesthuri Association and commissioner of PT Raudah Eksati Utama.
