Khalid Basalamah Reclaims Victim Status in Hajj Quota Corruption Case
Jakarta - The director and owner of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri (Uhud Tour), Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, has once again stated that he is a victim after being questioned as a witness in the alleged corruption case concerning the 2023-2024 Hajj quota.
Initially, Khalid said that he only communicated with PT Muhibah in Pekanbaru. He explained that Uhud Tour provided services in the form of Hajj furoda and then received an offer for a special Hajj quota from PT Muhibah.
“Suddenly, PT Muhibah came offering it on the grounds of official visas. When we had already issued the visas, we departed, and what we knew was that it was from PT Muhibah,” Khalid said at the Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026).
“That’s why I describe us as victims,” he added.
Khalid also claimed to have returned Rp 8.4 billion to the KPK related to the alleged corruption case of the 2023-2024 Hajj quota. He said he did not know the origin of the money from PT Muhibbah Mulia Wisata.
According to Khalid, the money was handed over to the KPK after the anti-corruption agency conducted an investigation into the Hajj quota case.
“That money (Rp 8.4 billion) was given by PT Muhibbah, and we didn’t know what money it was. The KPK asked for it, and we returned it when requested. That’s the extent of it. So, once again, in this case, we are the victims,” he stated.
This was conveyed by Khalid after being examined as a witness in the alleged Hajj quota corruption case on Tuesday (9/9/2025).
“I was a pilgrim with PT Muhibbah, owned by Ibnu Mas’ud. So, our position is actually as victims of PT Muhibbah owned by Ibnu Mas’ud,” Khalid said.
He mentioned that initially, he was set to perform the Hajj pilgrimage under the furoda category.
