KH Hasanuddin Kriyani Passes Away, Sidkon Djampi Remembers an Exemplary Ulama
Anggota Komisi I DPRD Jawa Barat dari Fraksi Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB), Sidkon Djampi, has expressed deep condolences over the passing of Pondok Buntet Pesantren elder KH Hasanuddin Kriyani. Abah Hasan died at the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) in Jakarta on Wednesday (12/8/2026).
Sidkon assessed that the passing of Abah Hasan is a great loss for the extended family of Pondok Buntet Pesantren and the wider pesantren world. During his lifetime, Abah Hasan was known as an ulama who was close to the community, humble, warm, and compassionate.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Abah Hasan. He was a humble, warm, and compassionate ulama. His exemplary conduct will always be remembered,” Sidkon said on Thursday (13/8/2026).
He explained that Abah Hasan not only played an important role in the life of the pesantren but was also a figure who upheld Islamic values and pesantren traditions. The deceased contributed to the continuity of education and religious life within the Pondok Buntet Pesantren environment.
Abah Hasan was previously entrusted by the elders of Pondok Buntet Pesantren to continue the leadership of KH Adib Rofiuddin Izza, who passed away on 1 June 2026. Since his youth, the deceased was active in the pesantren world. Abah Hasan was also once entrusted as the Rais Syuriah of the Cirebon Regency branch of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCNU). In July 2026, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees (Dewan Sepuh) of the Pondok Buntet Pesantren Educational Foundation (YLPI).
Sidkon Djampi hopes that the bereaved family and students will be granted fortitude. He prayed that all of Abah Hasan’s good deeds would be accepted by Allah SWT. “May Allah SWT forgive all his shortcomings, accept all his acts of worship, and place Abah Hasan in the best place by His side. May the family and all students be given strength and fortitude,” he said. Abah Hasan was scheduled to be buried on Thursday (13/8/2026) at the Buntet Pesantren Cemetery Complex.
