Members of DPR Commission III from eight factions have collectively pushed for the acid attack terror case against Wakil Koordinator KontraS, Andrie Yunus, to be thoroughly investigated.

Commission III held its third public opinion hearing (RDPU) on the case since the incident on 12 March 2026.

Commission III first discussed the case on 16 March and urged authorities to uncover the intellectual actors. A follow-up meeting on 18 March agreed to form a Working Committee (Panja) to monitor Andrie’s case.

In the third meeting, Commission III Chairman Habiburokhman stated that they agreed to expand the Panja for Andrie’s case to include all members and faction leaders in Commission III.

Habib mentioned that they are also open to involving members from other commissions, particularly Commission XIII, which handles human rights (HAM) issues.

“So today’s meeting is not final; we can’t draw conclusions yet, as it might be premature. But clearly, Commission III will hold a special plenary session on this matter,” Habib said at the end of the meeting on Tuesday (31/3).

Here are the key points from the third follow-up meeting on the Andrie Yunus case in Commission III:

Form TGPF

PDIP and Democrat factions support the government forming a joint fact-finding team (TGPF) to thoroughly investigate the acid terror case against Andrie. Commission III member from PDIP faction, I Wayan Sudirta, said this is common, especially to ensure an independent resolution process.

Moreover, Wayan noted, President Prabowo Subianto has urged the case to be thoroughly investigated up to the intellectual actors.

“The second issue is pushing the President to form a fact-finding team. Colleagues, this is political will. It’s not about whether it’s allowed or not. It is allowed! Because there are previous precedents,” Wayan said in the meeting.

Commission III member from the Democrat Faction, Benny Kabur Harman, wants the TGPF to involve several relevant institutions and important figures. According to him, this step is necessary as proof of credibility and the President’s commitment.

“President Prabowo should form a fact-finding team involving relevant institutions and important figures,” Benny said.

Connected Jurisdiction

Commission III member from Golkar Faction, retired Irjen Pol Rikwanto, assessed that handing over the case to TNI’s Puspom remains contradictory. However, he hopes all parties continue to follow the case’s developments.

Especially since recent suspicions of civilian involvement have emerged. Thus, the possibility of connected jurisdiction between general criminal and military courts remains open.

“I hope KontraS and Polda Metro prepare research results and developments, for whenever needed, to clarify what happened,” Rikwanto said.

A similar view was expressed by another Golkar Faction representative, Mangihut Sinaga. He urged that the trial process against the perpetrators be conducted through connected jurisdiction between military and general courts.

This effort is important to openly uncover the intellectual actors in the case.

“In this case, it would be much better if the investigation is conducted through connected jurisdiction. Return it to the police jointly,” Mangihut said.

Uncover Intellectual Actors

Commission III member from NasDem Faction, Rudianto Lallo, urged law enforcement to thoroughly investigate and find the intellectual actors behind the terror against Andrie.

Moreover, a similar directive has previously been given by President Prabowo. According to Lallo, with the President’s instructions, all law enforcement agencies can collaborate to resolve the case.

“Don’t let there be an impression of impunity; don’t let there be an impression that the state is absent. If there’s an impression of impunity, it’s clear, everyone is hit,” Lallo said.

Commission III member from Gerindra Faction, Bimantoro, pushed for the same. According to him, uncovering intellectual actors must be a priority for law enforcement in investigating Andrie’s case.

“What must be headlined is that everything must be opened. The intellectual actors, or whoever is related to this incident,” Bimantoro said.

Gross Human Rights Violation

Commission III member from PDIP Faction, Mercy Barends, views the acid terror case against Andrie as a gross human rights violation. She therefore questions the handover of the case to TNI’s Puspom.

“On what basis was it then handed over? Whereas this attack case is truly a serious criminal act and a gross human rights violation,” Mercy said.

PDIP, Mercy continued, views the enforcement of law in Andrie’s case as a form of democracy enforcement. Because, according to her, democracy must not be through terror.

“We must not lose. And what we discuss today is a representation of our support for Andrie Yunus,” she said.
