Kesbangpol and BNN Launch Drug-Free School Programme in Central Jakarta

The Central Jakarta Administrative City National Unity and Political Agency (Kesbangpol) has joined forces with the DKI Jakarta Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNN) to hold a Drug-Free Schools (Bersinar) programme at SMPN 156 Jakarta on Wednesday.

Acting Head of the Central Jakarta Kesbangpol Agency Rachmat Hidayat said the programme aims to provide understanding of the Prevention, Eradication, Abuse, and Illicit Trafficking of Narcotics (P4GN), particularly within the education environment, through outreach activities.

“Drugs are a serious threat to the future of the younger generation. Therefore, prevention efforts must start early through education, campaigns, and exemplary conduct from teachers, parents, and community leaders,” Rachmat said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to him, the activity is not merely ceremonial, but a concrete step towards creating a healthy, safe educational environment free from the influence of drugs.

He stressed that the programme represents a shared commitment between the government, BNN, schools, and the community to prevent drug abuse from an early age.

“This activity is not just ceremonial, but a concrete step in building a protective fortress for the younger generation against the threat of drugs,” Rachmat said.

Meanwhile, Head of SMPN 156 Jakarta Sarwono appreciated the implementation of the outreach programme because it provides students with knowledge about the dangers of drug abuse.

He also reminded all students to stay away from drugs because they can destroy their future.

Through the activity, students are expected to be able to recognise the dangers of drugs and adopt a firm stance to avoid narcotics in their daily lives.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team from Kesbangpol and BNN who have carried out this activity for our children so that they know about the dangers of consuming drugs,” Sarwono said.
