Jakarta — PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has commented on operational matters at Kertajati Airport, which appears to be experiencing low passenger traffic. Deputy Chief Executive Officer of InJourney Airports Achmad Syahir stated that the company’s role at the airport is operational cooperation.

Achmad Syahir said that InJourney had coordinated with the West Java Provincial Government to develop several scenarios for revitalising Kertajati Airport.

“Regarding the low traffic situation, we are looking at what possible efforts we can undertake. We have already coordinated with the West Java Provincial Government. There are several scenarios currently being pursued by the provincial government as the shareholder,” he said at a press conference at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

He stated that InJourney supports the local government in improving traffic at the airport and optimising flight operations to meet desired expectations.

“We acknowledge that Kertajati’s current performance does not match expectations, and there must be concerted efforts undertaken not only by the airport operator but also by the local government,” he added.

Although unable to disclose details, InJourney and the local government have discussed and reviewed plans for Kertajati Airport’s future.

“I cannot yet speak about what specific scenarios are being considered, as this is still being processed. We hope that clarity will emerge shortly with several ministries involved,” he concluded.
