Kerosene shortage in Palu

PALU, Central Sulawesi: Residents of the provincial capital,
Palu, have complained about the kerosene shortage that has hit
the city over the last few days.

"We have had difficulty in finding kerosene in the city.
Several retailers and distributors that still have stocks have
raised the price by between 25 percent and 50 percent," said
Suhartini, resident of the Petobo housing compound in the city.

Rosnah and Nita, residents of Tatura Subdistrict, called on
the local office of state-owned Pertamina to provide fresh
supplies of kerosene in order to avoid public unrest.

Suhartoto, head of the Pertamina fuel depot in the city
declined to comment on the shortage. --Antara
