Kerosene shortage hits Lombok Island

MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: After a week kerosene remains scare on Lombok Island, with locals forming long queues at stores in the provincial capital of Mataram.

Made Aswinayasa, a kerosene distributor, blamed the shortage on Monday on distribution problems in state oil and gas company PT Pertamina.

The shortage has caused the price of kerosene in the area to increase from Rp 1,000 to Rp 1,500 a liter. -- JP
