Kerosene dealer robbed
JAKARTA (JP): Six people wearing army uniforms robbed a house
owned by Suparto, a kerosene dealer, on Friday in Klender, East
Jakarta.
Republika daily reported yesterday that the robbery occurred
at 11:30 p.m. when Suparto and two of his family members were
still watching television in the living room.
Suparto said he heard a knock on his door and when he opened
it, uniformed men asked him if he knew of a certain person.
Suparto said that he did not recognize the name.
The men then forced their way in, saying that Suparto was
suspected of hiding narcotics. Instead, they forced Suparto to
hand over his valuables, including a gold necklace, a gold ring,
a stereo set and Rp 6.3 million (US$2,862) in cash. (mas)
