Keraton hands over marriage certificates for Sultan's Land in Gunungkidul
Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - The Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat has officially handed over Serat Palilah and Serat Kekancingan for Sultan Ground properties in Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, to the regency government and local community.
Penghageng Kawedanan Ageng Punakawan Datu Dono Suyoso of the Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat, GKR Mangkubumi, in Gunungkidul on Monday, stated that this step is part of efforts to regulate land administration, particularly in Gunungkidul, which is the largest region in DIY.
'Our task is to return the 'Kagungan Dalem' (Keraton-owned) land inch by inch, millimetre by millimetre through good administration,' said GKR Mangkubumi in a statement during the handover of the certificates.
GKR Mangkubumi said that the Keraton has no intention of evicting anyone, but rather wants to ensure that 'Kagungan Dalem' land is used according to regulations for the common welfare, both for the government and farmers.
Therefore, she firmly advised the recipients of the land documents to use the serat wisely and not to use them as collateral for debts.
Meanwhile, Regent of Gunungkidul Endah Subekti Kuntariningsih said that this moment is highly historic as it provides legal certainty and a form of protection from Ngarsa Dalem Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X for the utilisation of land for the people's prosperity.
'There are 4,046 plots of Sultan Ground in Gunungkidul Regency, of which 3,749 have been certified,' said Regent Endah.
According to her, since 2018 until now, there have been at least 154 applications for kekancingan letters submitted by institutions and the community.
'A special message from Ngarsa Dalem is to prioritise the utilisation of Sultan Ground for extremely poor residents for housing, not just for commercial interests such as village kiosks,' she said.
Head of Karangasem Ward in Gunungkidul, Sigit Purnomo, said that the granting of land use permits, whether in the form of Palilah or Kekancingan, is the prerogative right of Ngarsa Dalem. To realise this legality, the ward conducts intensive communication with the Panitikismo party.
According to him, there are 72 locations in Karangasem Ward used for government offices or residents' homes. Until now, many residents have occupied the land without official permission, which risks triggering legal issues in the future.
'That is actually what we want to resolve or respond to, so that there are no legal risks for our community,' he said.
