Kepulauan Seribu Government Supports Continuous Voter Data Update for 2026

The Kepulauan Seribu Regency Government is supporting the implementation of the Continuous Voter Data Update (PDPB) for 2026, which is being carried out by the local General Elections Commission (KPU) and was formalised through a hybrid Open Plenary Meeting.

“This activity is an important moment in preparing an accurate and continuous voter list to support the implementation of quality elections and regional head elections,” said Kepulauan Seribu Deputy Regent Aceng Zaeni in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that the coordination meeting was a momentum to prepare a sustainable voter list. “Kepulauan Seribu Regency is ready to synergise and fully support the various needs in the voter data updating process,” he said.

Aceng expressed hope that the collaboration between the regional government, the KPU, and all stakeholders would produce valid voter data and provide the best benefits for the people of Kepulauan Seribu. “Hopefully, these efforts will result in accurate voter data and provide the best service to the people of Kepulauan Seribu,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Kepulauan Seribu Regency KPU, Iman Cahyadi, explained that his party had carried out several stages of voter data updating, including limited matching and research on residents of Kepulauan Seribu who are abroad. Based on directives from the Indonesian KPU, this update period includes data collection on voters residing overseas.

“It turns out quite a number of Kepulauan Seribu residents are currently living abroad, so we conducted direct verification with the individuals concerned or their families to confirm their residency status,” he said. According to him, this step is a form of the KPU’s commitment to maintaining the accuracy of voter data so that citizens’ constitutional rights are guaranteed in future elections and regional head elections.

Iman added that the success of voter data updating cannot be achieved by the KPU alone, but requires support and collaboration from various agencies, such as the Population and Civil Registration Sub-department, the Police, the Military, and educational institutions. His party continues to collaborate with various parties because voter data is dynamic and constantly changing. “We also invite all village heads and stakeholders to provide input if there is data that needs to be synchronised, so that the continuous voter data can be increasingly accurate,” he said.
