Kepulauan Seribu encourages community to develop appropriate technology
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Sub-department for Community Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control (PPAPP) of Kepulauan Seribu Regency is inviting the community to participate in the development of innovation and appropriate technology to enhance empowerment and the local economy.
This appeal was made during the Innovator Meeting and Exhibition of Products Resulting from Appropriate Technology in Kepulauan Seribu Regency.
“This activity serves as a platform for the community and innovators to share knowledge while exploring innovation potential that meets the needs of the region,” said the Head of the Kepulauan Seribu PPAPP Sub-department, Simon Baginda Panjaitan, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Simon stated that the event provides a space for knowledge sharing, exploring innovation potential, and building collaboration to support the empowerment of the Kepulauan Seribu community.
The marine resource potential of Kepulauan Seribu can be developed through various innovations, including the processing of fish, seaweed, and other marine products.
According to him, the potential held by Kepulauan Seribu must be continuously driven to provide added value for the community.
“One way is through innovation in processing marine products so they can become products with economic value and competitiveness,” he said.
He added that the Kepulauan Seribu PPAPP Sub-department will encourage the data collection of MSMEs and potential start-ups, provide assistance in drafting funding proposals, and strengthen collaboration between the community, academics, government, and the business world.
