Kepri Provincial Government Invites Residents to Attend Lebaran Halal Bihalal at Regional Building

Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) - The Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov Kepri) is inviting the public to attend a halal bihalal gathering with the Governor and Deputy Governor during the Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah open house (gelar griya) at the Regional Building in Tanjungpinang City. “The open house will take place on the second day of Idul Fitri and will be attended directly by the Governor and Deputy Governor of Kepri to foster ties with the community,” said the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department (Diskominfo) of Kepri, Hendri Kurniadi, in Tanjungpinang on Friday. Nevertheless, Hendri stated, the halal bihalal with the Governor and Deputy Governor of Kepri will be limited to just from 09:00 until 12:00 WIB. This is in line with the Ministry of Home Affairs Circular (SE Mendagri) Number 400.6/3245/SJ to all regional heads in Indonesia to reduce ceremonial halal bihalal and open house activities in welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 H. In the circular dated 17 March 2026, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian urged all regional heads to prioritise activities that provide direct benefits to the community, such as giving assistance, social activities, and other productive endeavours. Furthermore, Hendri added, the Riau Islands Provincial Government has designated the Gladi Bakar Jaya Football Field in Tanjungriau, Sekupang Subdistrict, Batam City, as the location for this year’s Idul Fitri prayers. Governor of Kepri Ansar Ahmad is scheduled to attend and lead the Idul Fitri prayers, themed “Idul Fitri Strengthens Brotherhood”. “The Governor will act as the khatib. The prayers will be led by Ustadz Muhammad Salim,” Hendri revealed. Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Kepri Nyanyang Haris Pratamura is scheduled to perform Idul Fitri prayers at a different location. Hendri also invited Muslims, especially those residing in Batam City and surrounding areas, to attend and participate. The Idul Fitri prayer series will begin at 07:00 WIB. “The 2026 Idul Fitri prayers will be held on Thursday, 21 March 2026,” Hendri concluded.
