Kepri Provincial Government Changes ASN WFH Schedule from Friday to Wednesday

Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) - The Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov Kepri) has changed the work-from-home (WFH) policy schedule for civil servants (ASN) from Friday to Wednesday. This is based on Circular Letter (SE) from Governor Ansar Ahmad Number B/800/31/BKDKORPRI-SET/2026 on Changes to the Implementation of WFH Schedule in the Pemprov Kepri Environment, dated 21 April 2026. “The WFH policy, which was previously set for every Friday, has been changed to Wednesday and will take effect from 22 April 2026,” said the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department (Diskominfo) of Pemprov Kepri, Hendri Kurniadi, in Tanjungpinang on Tuesday. Hendri explained that the change in the WFH schedule aims to ensure that the work rhythm of employees remains well maintained. He elaborated that Wednesday was chosen because it is considered a neutral day in the middle of the week, making it effective for implementing WFH for ASN. In addition, Hendri continued, WFH in the middle of the week helps maintain team collaboration, where employees can meet at the beginning and end of the week. According to him, most offices typically use Monday as the start of the workweek with coordination meetings, while Friday is used for reviewing work results. “All WFH provisions remain in effect according to the previous governor’s circular,” Hendri stated. Hendri added that the main goal of WFH for ASN is to achieve efficiency in resources by reducing fuel consumption, electricity, water, and operational costs of regional device organisation (OPD) offices, which can be calculated in real terms.
