Kepri Provincial Government Appreciates Central Government's Support for Education Sector Development

The Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov Kepri) has expressed appreciation for the significant support from the Central Government towards the development of the education sector in the province.

Kepri Governor Ansar Ahmad stated that in 2025, the province will receive revitalisation assistance for 107 schools, with a budget of approximately Rp100 billion, as well as 1,933 interactive digital boards for educational units.

In addition, Ansar said that this year Kepri still requires around 5,799 interactive digital boards to meet the needs of technology-based learning in schools. The provincial government continues to coordinate with the Central Government through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) to realise the need for digital boards, including the budget for school revitalisation (SMA/SMK).

"Our hope is that in the future, each classroom will have one interactive digital board to support the teaching and learning process for students," said Ansar.

The Governor mentioned that in 2025, Kepri will also receive assistance for the construction of two new senior high school units from Kemendikdasmen, located in Batam City and Karimun Regency. Meanwhile, this year Kepri is receiving assistance for another two new school units in Batam, each valued at approximately Rp8 billion.

"This is clear evidence of the Central Government’s attention to improving the quality of education in Kepri," said Ansar.

He added that the education development assistance from the Central Government has had a positive impact on Kepri’s 2025 Human Development Index (IPM) achievement, which is ranked third highest nationally with a score of 80.53 (very high), after DKI Jakarta and DI Yogyakarta.

"Education is one of the three components of IPM development, alongside health and welfare," said Ansar.
