Kepri Kesbangpol Agency Allocates Rp5 Billion in Aid for Political Parties in 2026

Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) - The Riau Islands Provincial Government (Pemprov Kepri), through the National Unity and Political Agency (Kesbangpol), has allocated a budget of around Rp5 billion for financial assistance to political parties in 2026. The head of the Kepri Kesbangpol Agency, Muhammad Ikhsan, stated that the grant funds will be distributed to the 11 political parties that won the Provincial Legislative Election (Pileg) for the Riau Islands DPRD for the 2024-2029 period, namely Gerindra, Golkar, NasDem, PKS, PDI Perjuangan, PAN, PKB, Demokrat, Perindo, PSI, and PPP. “The amount of assistance for political parties varies, depending on the number of votes obtained. Each valid vote is set at Rp5,000,” Ikhsan said in Tanjungpinang on Monday. He conveyed that the grant funds must be prioritised for political education for party members and the public, as well as partly for the operational needs of party secretariats. He also encouraged political parties to intensively conduct socialisation and education on citizenship to the wider community so that the democracy index in Kepri continues to improve over time. “Moreover, election socialisation to millennials must be intensified, because they will dominate the number of permanent voter lists (DPT) in the future,” Ikhsan said. Gerindra and Golkar lead with nine seats each, followed by NasDem with seven seats, and PKS with six seats. Then, PDI-P with four seats, Demokrat with three seats, PKB with two seats, PAN with two seats, Hanura with one seat, PSI with one seat, and Perindo with one seat. “According to the order, Gerindra, Golkar, NasDem, and PKS will receive the largest political party assistance this year, as they secured the most seats as well as the leadership of the Kepri DPRD,” Ikhsan said.
