BATAM - The Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPM-PTSP) of the Kepulauan Riau Province held a business meeting at the Wyndham Hotel Batam on Wednesday (24/6/2026). The event carried the theme ‘Building an Economic Bridge for Kepulauan Riau–Malaysia Business Synergy for Shared Economic Growth’.

A number of competent speakers were presented, including Irma Rachmiyati, Director of IIPC Singapore, Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM, and Riatna Jeo, Associate Director of Access Indonesia. The business meeting was also attended by local entrepreneurs and invited businesspeople from neighbouring Malaysia.

Head of DPM-PTSP Kepri, Hasfarizal Handra, stated that this activity is one of the efforts to boost investment. “This business meeting serves as an investment promotion platform by bringing together Indonesian and Malaysian entrepreneurs. We are also aligning it with the Malaysia-Indonesia Socio-Economic (SOSEKMALINDO) activities,” he said.

During the meeting, Hasfarizal outlined a number of prime investment potentials that business players can pursue. He explained that in Bintan Regency, there is potential for developing various tourism and hospitality projects, including resorts, condotels, star-rated hotels, water parks, and a Green Bamboo Village as a nature-based and sustainable tourist destination. “In Bintan, supporting facilities are already available, such as villas, restaurants, utility networks, road access, beach areas, and mangroves,” he clarified.

In Natuna, business players can consider providing clean water for 1,000 house connections, domestic and international vessels, as well as the downstream coconut plantation industry. “Demand for copra charcoal, virgin coconut oil, briquettes, and handicrafts remains very high, and coconut production reaches 500,000 nuts per year. Natuna is also close to international trade routes,” he noted.

In Karimun, business players can engage in oil and gas storage and refining, fisheries and cold chain operations, terminal and warehousing operations, new and renewable energy, ship and marine structure repair, maritime services, and manufacturing and processing. “There is 120 hectares of industrial land, a 1,503-metre coastline, a 950,000 m² harbour basin, and the capacity to serve vessels up to 50,000 DWT,” he detailed.

Meanwhile, in Lingga, Hasfarizal explained that the area allows business players to support tourism activities, particularly on Katang Island. “Currently, Katang Island is being prepared to become a luxury second home with various premium facilities,” he said.

Hasfarizal invited all interested business players to contact DPM-PTSP Kepri to invest. “We will provide assistance from the pre- to post-investment stages,” he added.
