Kepri Governor Urges Residents to Fill Nuzulul Quran Night with Tadarus
Tanjungpinang — The Governor of the Riau Islands (Kepri), Ansar Ahmad, has urged Muslims to fill the night of Nuzulul Quran 1447 Hijri / 2026 AD by increasing the recitation of the Qur’an (tadarus), whether individually or in congregation at home, surau, or mosques. The governor emphasised that tadarus is not merely reading the Qur’an but also studying, delving into its meaning, and correcting one another’s readings together. ‘Hopefully on this Nuzulul Quran night, we will always receive blessings and forgiveness from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala (SWT),’ he said in Tanjungpinang on Friday. Ansar described Nuzulul Quran as one of the important events in Islamic history, because on the night of Ramadan Allah SWT revealed the Qur’an as guidance for humankind, and as the differentiator between right and wrong. He said that the Qur’an is the word of Allah SWT revealed through the Prophet Muhammad Shalallahu Alaihi Wasallam (SAW), and within it there is guidance for human life. ‘Therefore, let us make the Qur’an our guide in facing various life issues,’ said Governor Ansar. He added that the holy month of Ramadan is a moment to strengthen faith and elevate worship, especially by drawing closer to the Qur’an. He also encouraged the birth of a Kepri generation that loves the Qur’an, understands its contents, and makes it a guide in daily life. Meanwhile, the Kepri Provincial Government (Pemprov) will continue to reinforce the nurturing of the younger generation through the Taman Pendidikan Al-Quran (TPQ) and various Qur’an education centres across the province’s districts and cities. ‘Through the night of Nuzulul Quran, may Allah SWT grant us the noblest title for a servant—namely, to be among those who are pious,’ said Kepri Governor Ansar Ahmad.
