BRATISLAVA (Reuter): Three men set year's fastest times at the Slovnaft international athletics meeting on Wednesday.

Kenya's Christopher Koskei, silver medalist at last year's world championships, clocked eight minutes 17.70 seconds in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, running barefoot ahead of team mates Wilson Kipketer and Johnstone Kipkoech.

Compatriot Shem Kororia also led a Kenyan trio to the finish in this year's fastest 10,000m, clocking 27:30.37

Venuste Niyongabo of Burundi failed in his attempt to set a 2,000m world record, but still notched this year's best time of 4:52.30.
