Kenny Austin Shares Tips for Staying Comfortable During Outdoor Activities in Tropical Climates

ACTOR Kenny Austin shared a guide on choosing the right outdoor sportswear to cope with the hot and humid weather in Indonesia during the UNIQLO in Motion 2026 event in Central Jakarta, last Saturday (9/5). He emphasized the importance of materials that support air circulation to maintain physical comfort when activity intensity increases.

According to Kenny, the tropical climate presents a unique challenge because the body tends to sweat more and expend more energy. Therefore, selective clothing choices are key for outdoor sports enthusiasts.

“Exercising outdoors is tiring, and the weather also makes you sweat a lot more,” said Kenny Austin.

He outlined three main parameters in choosing sportswear:

“Indonesia is a tropical country, so the air is hot and humid, so it needs light materials and good air circulation,” added Kenny.

With the right functional clothing choices, the risk of overheating can be reduced so that stamina remains maintained even when exercising for long periods under direct sunlight.

“In my opinion, it’s best to wear clothes that can absorb sweat and dry quickly, so they don’t make you feel stuffy when worn,” he said.

Marketing Manager of Uniqlo Indonesia, Lisqia Lalantika, stated that the company is open to expanding its support to other sports outside of tennis.

Currently, Uniqlo is strongly associated with tennis through global brand ambassadors such as Roger Federer and Emma Raducanu. However, Lisqia said that the potential to enter the world of football remains wide open.

“Actually, there are no sports that we might support that are impossible,” said Lisqia Lalantika.

However, Lisqia noted that support for football requires the development of very specific and capable products. She emphasized that the company’s focus is currently on improving the quality of existing products.

“However, to support football, for example, we must also have adequate items, but in the near future, there are no discussions in that direction,” Lisqia concluded. (Z-10)
