Kendari Regional Secretary Opens Partnership Forum for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control
The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Kendari City has officially opened a Partnership Forum intended to accelerate the control of infectious diseases, specifically HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB), and Malaria (ATM). This activity serves as a strategic step by the local government to strengthen cross-sector synergy to reduce case numbers within the Kendari City area.
In his address, the Regional Secretary emphasised that managing these three diseases cannot rely solely on the health sector. Solid collaboration is required between the government, the private sector, community organisations, and local communities to create a comprehensive prevention and management system.
The forum aims to align work programmes across various agencies to ensure that interventions are more precisely targeted. The Regional Secretary stated that the active involvement of all stakeholders is crucial, particularly regarding public education, early detection, and patient assistance to ensure complete treatment.
The Kendari City Government is committed to continuously supporting national programmes to eliminate HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria. Through this partnership forum, it is hoped that innovations and solutions will emerge to address technical obstacles faced in the field, including the issue of social stigma which often prevents patients from accessing healthcare services.
In addition to coordination, the forum also discussed the more effective utilisation of resources and budgets. The Regional Secretary reminded participants of the importance of validating case data so that every policy adopted is based on field facts. With accurate data, the allocation of aid and the distribution of medicines can be carried out more efficiently.
The event was attended by representatives from the Health Office, leaders of relevant Regional Apparatus Organisations (OPD), and other health development partners. It is expected that the results of this meeting can be promptly implemented through concrete actions to improve the public health standards in Kendari City.
