Kendari police seize illegal logs

KENDARI, Southeast: Kendari police have seized six cubic
meters of logs during an operation code-named Wanalaga launched
at the Wawonii and Waworete districts.

Kendari police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Sumaryoto confirmed the
seizure on Wednesday, saying that the logs did not have proper
documentation.

The owner of the logs was identified only as Mar.

"Mar admitted to possessing the logs. We did not arrest him as
he promised to respond to a police summons at any time for
further legal processing," Sumaryoto said, adding that the logs
had been found by his subordinates on the beach at Wawonii.

The Wanalaga operation will end on Nov. 10. --Antara
