Kendari Customs Facilitates First Export of Tapioca Flour and VCO
Kendari Customs facilitated the first export of Southeast Sulawesi’s flagship commodities, namely tapioca flour from PT Agri Cassava Makmur and Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) from PT Sofi Agro Industries, in South Konawe on Thursday (10/09/2026).
The Head of Kendari Customs, Taufik Sapto Harsono, stated that the success of this initial export is the result of intensive collaboration and assistance provided by Customs alongside local governments and relevant agencies.
“Our assistance began with providing an understanding of customs procedures, fulfilling export requirements, cross-agency coordination, and resolving various obstacles faced by companies so they are prepared to conduct exports independently,” he said.
According to Taufik, continuous assistance is one of the efforts to encourage the emergence of new exporters and expand market access for Southeast Sulawesi’s flagship products. Through this activity, Kendari Customs reaffirms its commitment to providing ongoing service, supervision, and guidance to business actors to enhance regional export performance.
“We hope this inaugural export of tapioca flour and VCO can serve as a catalyst for other flagship commodities to enter the global market, while simultaneously driving increased investment, job creation, and economic growth in Southeast Sulawesi,” Taufik concluded.
