Kendari City Government Declares Disaster Emergency Response, Focuses on Aid Distribution
Volunteers from Taruna Siaga Bencana (TAGANA) distributed food to residents affected by flooding in the Kali Wanggu area, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, on Tuesday (12/5/2026). The local city government has declared a disaster emergency response status for hydrometeorological wet conditions from 11 to 17 May 2026 to ensure that disaster handling proceeds optimally and in a coordinated manner after floods inundated seven sub-districts in Kendari City. Workers carried sacks of government food aid rice onto transport vehicles at the Bulog Sultra Warehouse in Puunggaloba Village, Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, on Wednesday (13/5/2026). The Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Government, in collaboration with Perum Bulog, is distributing Government Food Reserves (CPP) in the form of 52 tonnes of rice and 3,060 litres of cooking oil to residents affected by hydrometeorological disasters in six districts and cities, namely Kendari City, Konawe Regency, South Konawe Regency, North Konawe Regency, East Kolaka Regency, and Kolaka Regency.
