Ken Pattern exhibits work on Indonesia

JAKARTA: The popular lithographs and paintings of renowned Canadian artist Ken Pattern will be on display at the Four Seasons Hotel in Central Jakarta from Dec. 2 to Jan. 16.

Most of his pieces are inspired by Indonesian urban and rural landscapes, particularly parts of Jakarta.

During the exhibition kick-off ceremony on Wednesday, Canadian Ambassador Randolph Mank revisited his first encounter with Pattern's work during his first posting in 1990.

"I remember being impressed by the vivid detail of his work and his ability to portray the sharp contrasts and extremes of Jakarta's cityscape," he remarked. --JP
