The panel of judges at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court has sentenced defendant Irvian Bobby Mahendro to six years in prison. ‘Sentencing the Defendant Irvian Bobby Mahendro to a prison term of 6 years,’ stated presiding judge Nur Sari Baktiana while reading out the verdict on Thursday (4/6/2026). The judges also ordered Bobby to pay a fine of Rp 200 million, with a subsidiary sentence of 90 days’ detention. Bobby was further ordered to pay restitution amounting to Rp 36,043,321,360 (Rp 36.04 billion), with a subsidiary sentence of three years’ imprisonment. The court ruled that Bobby and the four other defendants in this case were not proven to have accepted gratuities. The judges stated that the prosecutors failed to present valid, corroborating evidence with sufficient probative value to support the charges of receiving gratuities. The verdict noted that the public prosecutors’ charges regarding gratuities against defendant III, defendant IV (Irvian Bobby Mahendro), defendant V, defendant VI, and defendant VII relied solely on a single piece of evidence, namely bank account statements, and were not supported by other mutually related and corroborating evidence. As a result, the panel found that those charges did not meet the minimum standard of proof required by criminal procedure law. Consequently, the amounts claimed by the prosecutors could not be legally declared as proven gratuities received by each of the defendants. The judges declared Irvian Bobby Mahendro proven to have violated Article 12 letter b in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 20 letter c in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph 1 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code. Previously, Bobby had been sentenced to six years in prison as demanded by prosecutors, who were convinced of his guilt in committing extortion and accepting gratuities. The prosecution had sought a fine of Rp 250 million and restitution of Rp 60,329,415,416 (Rp 60 billion).
