Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) is presenting a series of digital literacy programmes targeting women to realise digitally competent Indonesian women in celebration of Kartini Day 2026. One of the activities is partnering with the global digital design platform Canva to utilise this platform for creating designs with technology in support of implementing regulations to create safe and friendly digital spaces for women and children. “We will open Kartini classes with Canva, this is specifically for women. There will be two activities: first, introducing PP Tunas and how its implementation works, then in the second session, there will be a workshop to utilise this platform so that it can implement PP Tunas in their respective community areas,” said the Head of Digital Literacy Development at the Human Resources Development Agency of Kemkomdigi, Rizki Ameliah, in Jakarta on Tuesday. Creating digital competence for women through digital literacy does not only stop at supporting Indonesian women’s ability to use the internet but extends to utilising the internet to create added value, including from an economic perspective. The programme will involve volunteers from Kemkomdigi called Digital Literacy Guides. They will assist interested women in the programme to grow their businesses through the utilisation of digital technology. “We will target increasing digital literacy for women, especially for UMKM, for women operating in the UMKM sector. We want to see the impact, whether their economy improves, because there is mentoring until they scale up,” said Rizki Ameliah. Not only that, the digital literacy provided also covers understanding of regulations related to business in the digital space and current issues such as PP Tunas. Understanding these regulations is important so that when the mentoring is completed, the women who receive the training can remain empowered independently in the digital space while ensuring that the digital space is safe for their families, including for children. According to Rizki, this digital literacy programme for women driving UMKM will run from April to October 2026, and more complete information can be accessed via digitalent.komdigi.go.id.
