Kemkomdigi Orders 25 Private Sector Electronic System Providers to Fulfil Registration Obligations

The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) has issued an official notification to 25 Private Sector Electronic System Providers (PSE) that meet the mandatory registration criteria but have yet to fulfil their registration obligations in accordance with statutory regulations. Director of Electronic Certification and Transaction Supervision at Kemkomdigi, Teguh Arifiyadi, stated that PSE registration is a crucial part of efforts to realise orderly, secure, and accountable digital space governance. “Through registration, the government can ensure that the operation of electronic systems complies with applicable legal provisions and provides better protection for the public,” Teguh said in a confirmed statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. Articles 2 and 4 of the regulation explicitly require every Private Sector PSE, both domestic and foreign, to register its electronic systems. As part of its supervisory duties, Kemkomdigi sent notification letters on 26 June 2026 to 25 Private Sector PSEs, comprising 15 foreign PSEs and 10 domestic PSEs, covering a total of 57 electronic systems in the form of websites and applications, to immediately fulfil their registration obligations by 3 July 2026 at the latest. “If by the specified deadline the PSEs have not fulfilled their registration obligations, we will take follow-up actions in accordance with statutory regulations, including issuing warning letters and imposing administrative sanctions in the form of access blocking,” Teguh stated. Beyond the Private Sector PSEs that have received the notification letter, Kemkomdigi also urges all other Private Sector PSEs that meet the mandatory registration criteria to immediately register in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations.
