Kemkomdigi explains how to check social assistance status on the Perlinsos portal
Director General of Digital Government Technology at the Ministry of Communications and Digital (Kemkomdigi), Mira Tayyiba, explained that citizens can independently check their social assistance eligibility via the government’s Social Protection (Perlinsos) digital portal.
“So citizens can access the Perlinsos portal, which ends with go.id,” Mira said during a press conference at the Kemkomdigi office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
She explained that citizens would need to enter their National Identity Number (NIK) for identity verification, after which the system would confirm the identity holder.
Users can then select the type of social assistance they wish to access, such as the Family Hope Programme (PKH) or Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT).
Mira stated that behind the Perlinsos portal, the system exchanges data between government agencies to determine whether applicants meet the criteria to be beneficiaries.
According to her, the system compiles responses from various parameters to generate the social assistance eligibility status, which is then immediately available to the public via the portal.
However, if citizens feel the assessment does not match their actual circumstances, the government provides a mechanism to appeal via the Perlinsos portal. Users can submit additional information not yet recorded in the system.
She added that the appeal data would be updated and re-verified by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to ensure individuals remain within deciles 1 to 4 as social assistance targets.
Mira stated that the digitalisation of Perlinsos was designed to make the service more understandable and accessible to the public.
For beneficiaries with mobile phones and familiarity with digital services, the entire process can be completed independently.
The government has also prepared assistants for vulnerable groups or those without digital access or skills to ensure they can still access the service.
“With this approach, we hope digitalisation does not create new barriers; instead, it expands service access while making it easier and more inclusive for the wider public,” Mira said.
