Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communications and Digital (Kemkomdigi) and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) are cooperating to counter hoaxes and disinformation related to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme to ensure that each handling step is based on facts and proper authority. Director General for Digital Space Oversight at Kemkomdigi, Alexander Sabar, explained that inter-agency collaboration represents strategic synergy focused on strengthening coordination and integration of the existing mechanisms. ‘Such synergy enables responses to issues to be conducted accurately and proportionally, while ensuring that every handling step is based on facts and the correct authority,’ Alexander said in a written statement confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday. He explained that Kemkomdigi, through the Directorate General for Digital Space Oversight, carries out the function of supervising the digital space through handling content that violates the law. Meanwhile, BGN acts as the substantive authority providing data, information, and official clarifications to support the verification process. ‘Thus, this form of cooperation emphasises fast coordination, data-based verification, and integrated responses to keep the digital space healthy and trustworthy,’ Alexander said. He explained that Kemkomdigi carries out the tasks of supervision and enforcement to prevent the spread of hoaxes related to MBG through handling illegal content in cooperation with ministries and related agencies. Kemkomdigi also actively releases content identified as hoaxes through the official website komdigi.go.id so that the public obtains accurate and data-based information. In addition, the public is actively involved through official reporting channels at aduankonten.id or email aduankonten@komdigi.go.id, as well as the Agency Complaint System for ministries/agencies to submissions for more responsive blocking submissions. ‘Every piece of content verified as disinformation related to MBG will be followed up with public clarification or other technical actions to prevent wider spread,’ Alexander said. It is known that the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) strengthens its synergy with Kemkomdigi to counter hoaxes and disinformation related to MBG. BGN Head of Legal and Public Relations Khairul Hidayati stated that reinforcing data- and fact-based narratives is a priority for BGN amid the rapid flow of digital information. According to him, national strategic programmes like MBG must be safeguarded with transparent and responsive communication. ‘MBG programmes concern the wider public interest, so circulating information must be accurate and accountable. We are synergising with Kemkomdigi to ensure the digital space remains healthy from hoaxes and disinformation,’ Hidayati said.
